My name is Alix. I’m a chef who’s passionate about using premium ingredients (think local, organic, and seasonal) and craft cannabis. Both have been pillars in my personal progress. That’s why I want to share my story. Hopefully this helps in your journey and explains why I’m working so hard to share these products.

Background

My love for making food goes way back. As a child, I began baking with my grandmother. Watching the calming motions of her rolling out the dough and smelling the inviting aroma of freshly baked cookies was irresistible. Come Thanksgiving, offering a helping hand was always the highlight of my holiday season. The exquisite tastes and joy that food can bring to a table was more gratifying than anything I’d experienced.

Fast-forward to my teen years. After a night out, I’d eagerly make my way to the kitchen and exercise my creativity. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the munchies. Even in my teenage high-stupor, I became comfortable with the unique challenges of cooking. I discovered a lot during this time. Most importantly, my need to cook. An important lesson here -- don’t get stoned and fall asleep with pasta on the stove. I almost burnt down my parents house!

Post high school, I followed my heart and enrolled in the Institute of Culinary Education. This was an awesome experience where I could exercise my purpose and sharpen my skill set. Side note to others taking this route: they don’t actually teach you how to infuse. That’s an art I learned on my own. After class, I practiced the methods we’d learned with a few tweaks to incorporate infusions. I’m not going to lie, a whole lot of trial and error went into perfecting this craft. Sadly, a lot of weed was harmed and / or disposed of in the process. Not to mention, far more edible comas than I’d recommend. Hey, it's all part of the learning process. 🤷‍♀️
